Health Care Centre De Brug is situated in a part of town called De Meenthe. All streetnames have to do with water. Therefore the flow of water was taken as principle. Water is nutritious. Without water no life. Water is subject to circulation, plants get water from the soil, through evaporation it rises into the sky, from the sky it falls back as rain, and the cycle begins all over again.

The object consists of six planes of two colours each. One by one these coloured planes rise up in a staircase-like way. First blue and green, groundwater and grass, then pink and orange and green and yellow for flowers. Then blue and orange for the sky and the beginning of the chromatic spectrum: red, pink, yellow, orange. That completes the first half of the cycle and the lights go out all at once. After a few seconds they are started up again from the bottom.
By day the light is meant to give colour to the planes without any intention of illumination. This turned out well. By night, when the centre is closed, the light adds personality to the building.
